Heading into the coming days with a lively and blithe heart, a positive outlook, and a can-do attitude?
It’s a wonderful way to approach the Lunar New Year.
And if you’re especially charmed by some of the characters regularly seen around Universal Studios Hollywood, from Tigress and Po (from “Kung Fu Panda”) to the Minions, your blitheness may grow ever stronger, thanks to their happy presence at the theme park’s Lunar New Year festivities.
Also a happy-maker? These festivities aren’t just a weekend-long lark, but are dancing over several merry days, through to Monday, Feb. 18.
Sights to be potentially dazzled by?
A “(c)urtain of customary red Chinese lanterns” around Universal Plaza, as well as Wishing Trees (yep, they’re plum-blossom’d trees, and, for sure, you can leave a wish upon a branch).
There’s a Dragon Warrior Training Show with Master Po and his buddies at the helm, live performances by various dance troupes on the weekends, and the ever-popular Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop.
If you’re hankering for Oogway Eggrolls or Dragon Warrior Bao, this is your go-to spot.
As for the popular meet-and-greets? You can snap a pic with Master Po and Tigress, or MEGATRON, down at The Transformers: The Ride-3D,” or Mr. Ping at his yummy noodle shop, or Hello Kitty herself, hooray.
Find her at the Animation Studio Store.
Oh yes, and if you’ve heard how MEGATRON speaks Mandarin, well, it’s all true, so that could be part of your visit with the iconic robot.
How to join all of this joyful live-it-up-a-tude? Just pay your admission to get into the Year of the Pig party or show your pass.
